Obama Puts Forward Last Ditch Health Care Plan
Instead of worrying about health coverage for everyone and imposing more taxes on anyone, wouldn't it be wiser to concentrate on jobs for everyone?
Our debt is growing...Just last week China has shown some serious interest in not lending us money. Future generations will be taxed to death in order to pay back the debts of our current administration.
The current issues that really need our attention are to fix our national foreclosure problem, real solutions to our employment problem and most importantly how the UNITED STATES can get back to the cutting edge of development.
The current track record of our congress doesn't bode well in showing us how to cut costs effectively and still run the "business of government" effectively. President Obama has added a new dimension to his idea of nationalized health reform. His new idea is to give the Federal Government the power to regulate the health industry much like a public utility. This would allow "The Health and Human Services Department" in conjunction with state authorities the ability to deny "egregious premium increase and limit them or demand rebates to consumers.
v All this a few weeks after Anthem/Well-Point announced the individual rate increases in California of 39%. The outrage on the surface makes sense, but when you research the why all bets are off.
Because unemployment is growing those who are healthy are dropping coverage in order to provide what they perceive is more important things for their families i.e.; Food, clothing and a home.
Those who are keeping the coverage have major issues and feel they cannot drop the coverage. Those people who opt for COBRA are usually the ones who are already receiving treatment. The national current loss ratio for COBRA is over 400%. For every dollar of premium generated the insurance company pays out four. Ask yourself these questions, how long can a business stay alive when they are losing four times what they bring in???? How can you demand that people must take individual health coverage???
These past few years one thing continues to concern me...it isn't the purchasing of health insurance that is the problem, It's the delivery of quality affordable healthcare for all American's that seems to be the issue. When was the last time you heard any of our elected officials tell you they were going to cap the fees charged by hospitals, specialists and family practice doctors???
How is it possible that those with insurance are charged one fee, yet the insurance company can receive anywhere from 50% to 80% discounts which is called "negotiated reimbursements". You, if your uninsured paying cash cannot receive the same discount. Why is that?????
